Railroad Explorer Magazine's Winter 2011 issue features a cover story by myself about railroading on Maine's Rockland Branch. The story features both images by myself and Photographer Tim Franz between 1990 and 2010, including the cover image seen here.

Work featured in new "Night Visions" project

A new website being produced by a University of Montana School of Journalism class will feature stories by myself and others, that focus on the night life of Missoula, Montana. My first story is about Mike Maas, a late night parking officer at UM. The stories can be viewed here at Night Vision Missoula.

Feature article in Railroads Illustrated Magazine

The December issue of Railroads Illustrated is hitting news stands now and features two article by myself. The first is about Southern Pacific 4-8-4 4449s historic cross country trip in October from the midwest to Portland, Ore. The second is a major feature story titled "Change On The Pass" and is about Burlington Northern helper operations on Marias Pass in northern Montana. Without question, the highlight of this story is the classic images by photographer and father Tim Franz from 1978. This is the first time these classic photos have been published and I'm extreamly proud to have played a part in getting them out there after 30 years.

I recently worked with UM journalism student Jessica Stugelmayer on a story about Missoula's new pedestrian ordinance that will force homeless people off the sidewalks of downtown.
